Fall is in the air and it's bittersweet. When I was little I would smell that first crisp fall night or see that first leaf changing from green to yellow and my stomach would drop - school was was on its way and I knew there was no stopping it. Seasons must change... Now that the cool breeze and the changing colors aren't an indication of childhood freedom lost I am more capable of appreciating the beauty of fall.

Feather down comforter,
New scarf,
Windows open,
New soup recipe,
Apple cinnamon candle ( my husbands favorite smell year round),

Sweaters,
Slippers,
 Apple cinnamon cider,
Apple cinnamon cider,
Popcorn balls,
Pumpkin patch,
Carving pumpkin,
Coffee sipping,
Costume shopping,
Candy tasting,
Decorating,

Fall colors...

The morns are meeker than they were,
The morns are meeker than they were,The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.
Emily Dickinson
Lo! sweeten'd with the summer light,
The full-juiced apple, waxing over-mellow,
Drops in a silent autumn night.
All its allotted length of days
The flower ripens in its place,
Ripens and fades, and falls, and hath no toil,
Fast-rooted in the fruitful soil.
Alfred Lord TennysonNature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Robert Frost
